A slower way through the garden
What we leave behind
Our gardens are an invitation to slow down: to take time, to quiet the pace of the day. Each one is designed to encourage pause, and to turn the plain act of stepping outside into something restoring.
Every garden is individual yet quietly sure of itself, shaped by our hand and layered with texture, comfort and calm. Every line, material and plant is considered, and every gesture has a job. The result feels effortless, and it lasts.
Guided by the site and refined through design, the work balances modern comfort with a style that does not date. Each garden in the collection is made for connection and for shared time.
Come outside.

About the founder
Clara Ondine founded the studio in 2011 with a commitment to design-led garden and landscape work. She trained and practised in London, moved west in 2015, and now designs everything from small city gardens in Bath and Bristol to larger country landscapes across the Cotswolds. A studio of four, with a book of builders and nurseries built over a decade.
The making is part of the pleasure

A garden takes a year to build and three to arrive. We stay with it: planting in the first autumn, editing in the second spring, and coming back once a year afterwards to see what the garden has decided.
Philosophy
The studio is guided by a commitment to timeless calm, with a modern and unfussy approach to landscape design. Drawing on the old principles of balance, symmetry and proportion, we make spaces that are uncluttered and restful to look at. Quiet design and small, careful details are what make a garden a lasting pleasure.
Modern comforts
By watching the moments that make up a day outside, we fold modern comfort into the design without it showing: heat where you sit in October, light where you walk at night, shade at two in the afternoon. Every detail is placed to make being outside easier and being together more likely.
